Power Trails Series
General Information
Ridgecrest and Trona are home to 5 power trail series totalling over 400 caches. Within a 100 mile radius there are at least 9 more bringing the total to at least 14 power trails totalling over 1,600 caches!
Below you will find all the info you need to grab those smileys while visiting our local area including a list of the caches and pocket queries of each trail. If you see a series NOT listed, please let me know and I will add them ASAP.
Please double check the conditions of each cache before attempting a search as some may become archived or go missing after this list was created. I will only remove a series when the entire series has been archived.
Food & Drink Series
The Food and Drink Series was started in December 2012 and has grown to over 100 caches scattered through Ridgecrest, mainly on Bowman Road streching all the way from the intersection of 395 and Bowman Road to the intersection of Trona Road and Bowman Road.
Difficulty ratings range from a 1.0 to a 5.0 and Terrain ratings range from 1.5 to 4.0. Here you will find traditional caches, multi stage caches, mystery caches and letterbox caches.
Because each cache has been placed by different CO's with different and unique containers, THIS IS NOT a travelling series! Please DO NOT pick these caches up, sign the log and place it at another cache while replacing one.
You are welcome to add a new cache of your own to this series, but if you are not local, please make sure you have someone willing to maintain it for you.

Rails to Trails Series
The Rails to Trails Series was created in October 2011 by the BHS Geocaching Club and has continued to grow. This series of caches runs along the Rails to Trails that is just south of Ridgecrest along the 395 and then wraps around the hills and heads out by Brown Road. It has a mix of cache sizes and containers.
The actual trail is sand, packed dirt, pea gravel, and small gravel along the way. There are some dirt trails and dirt roads that can get you close to some of the caches as well as allow vehicle access to the trail. Our original idea was to walk it, but it's drivable up through #25 in a 2WD (We used a Toyota Sienna Minivan). You may want to detour around the bridge that is past that point unless you have a high clearance vehicle.
Difficulty ratings range from a 1.5 to a 5.0 and Terrain ratings range from 1.5 to 4.0. The series is made up of all traditional caches.
Because each cache has different and unique containers, THIS IS NOT a travelling series! Please DO NOT pick these caches up, sign the log and place it at another cache while replacing one.

Trona Series
The Trona Series was created in February 2011 by Chris93555 and adopted out to the Ridgecrest Geocachers group in September 2012. The series has 94 caches about .2 miles apart along the east side of Trona Road. This is easiest to complete if heading North starting at Trona #1 (GC2NB6N). They are under rocks, in bushes, below signs, etc. Most are easy but a couple may be hard.
Trona Rd. is not a busy road but please do not stop on the road. There is enough room to pull over by every cache. The E.T. power trail in NV was shut down due to safety concerns, please be careful while pulling out onto the road so we can keep this trail alive.
Cell service is slim to none. Be prepared to be out there several hours. If you find a missing cache, please feel free to replace it. During the summer this area gets hot weather, 100+ degrees, so take plenty of water. The nearest gas station to Trona #1 is in Johannesburg, CA 93528. At Trona #94 take a left on Highway 178 and you will end up in Ridgecrest, CA where there are plenty of gas stations, restaurants and hotels.
Difficulty ratings range from a 1.5 to a 4.5 and Terrain ratings on all are 1.5. The series is made up of all traditional caches.
